*Sings the Iconic lyrics of Independent Ladies by Destinyβs Child*
So for all my readers, this Sunday on the 8th March 2020, is International Womenβs Day, hence for PLTβs latest podcast on βBehind Closed Doorsβ, The PLT family decided to do an episode dedicated to the boss babes that work BTS of my favourite fashion retail company, the one we all know and love; βPrettyLittleThingβ .
In case, you havenβt heard of PLT, short for, PrettyLittleThing is a UK-based fashion retailer, aimed at the young, fresh and fashion savvy. Iβve always been a fan of PLT from since when I became old enough to buy my own clothing online. PLT caters for everyone and includes diversity in their models and provides trendy clothing at an affordable price.
Honestly, despite my love for PLT and their team, I do recommend their podcasts. Being a phone fuelled teen π, who is social media savvy, I must admit that I had never listened to podcasts before βBehind Closed Doorsβ and thought that they were boring. However since listening to βBehind Closed Doorβ it really highlighted the greatness of podcasts. In addition, the fact that the podcast brings a fun and girly twist with empowering chats with our fave influencers and now the PLT team ! πππ , instead of gossiping, that we unfortunately see a lot with other medias.
This Tuesday, on the latest episode of βBehind Closed Doorsβ, PLTβs presenter sat down with Nicki Capstick ( Head of Marketing ) at PLT, Amy Reddish ( Head of Brand ) and Gemma Dunne ( Head of Buying), who I must say gave me some laughs with their funny stories about when PLT just started and their empowering quotes. It was so beautiful not only to see how PLT had grown so far, but also how individually, each of the Boss Babes, including Natalie OβLeary the presenter herself had all grown personally. Nicki from doing Admin to finding something she loved doing which is marketing and having the strength to manage all of Umar Kamaniβs ideas etc π ,Gemma, like me, teaching that Creativity does not have a certain personality and the fact that as a beautiful strong mother, gradually learning how to balance her work life with her personal life, Natalie from studying drama to reaching even higher limits in testing herself to now presenting and Amy in teaching us that we have to go through different stages in order to get to our end goal and that even though it may not be easy, that we should stay determined.
Even listening to the podcast with my mum, she learned tips and itβs a great experience for me when listening with my mum or by myself at college on Tuesdays, as new podcasts are released every Tuesday. For me, this episode was especially useful as in the future I would like to work within the Marketing, Advertising, Branding and Media sector and finding advice on how to get onto that field can be difficult. Iβm sure you would agree for all my fellow college readers who also have a career dream that it can be difficult to get advice for. Even with interview stages, hearing advice from the girlies on the importance of embracing your individual personality, standing out on your CVs and being persistent helped to motivate me in continuing to practice self love and my creativity.
So finally, for all my readers, in celebrating #InternationalWomensWeek here at Starring Stantara, I would recommend for you to watch the podcast, if like me: you love PLT, want advice in getting into your dream career field and/ or if you just want to hear an honest girl chat featuring empowering Boss Babes . And to the PLT team, Iβm sure on behalf of your supporters, we thank you for continuing the Empowerment lifestyle and for the honest advice. I canβt wait to see what the future holds for PrettyLittleThing and Iβm happy to be a supporter of that journey. Happy day to whatever day youβre reading this on and Stay Blessed, Stay Fashionable and Stay Educated.
